The Olympic Games in Ancient Greece
This event already took place. (12/08/2026)
The recent Winter Olympic Games have brought attention back to the Ancient Olympics, which originated in Greece in the 8th century BC. What events took place? Who were the athletes? The songs of the poet Pindar chronicled those ancient games, immortalizing the victors and introducing them to successive generations, so much so that they inspired in modern times the desire to see those ancient competitions reborn.
