Since 1996, MeranOjazz has transformed Merano into an international hub for improvised music. What makes this event unique is the synergy between the festival and the academy: a high-level blend of concert performance and education, born from the collaboration between the Municipality and the Muspilli association, which has coordinated the entire event since 2022.
Under the direction of Franco D'Andrea and Ewald Kontschieder, the academy welcomes professionals, beginners, and young talents (Teens' Corner), fostering an intercultural exchange with instructors from all over the world. The festival, curated by Vincenzo Costa, boasts over 80 concerts featuring world-class artists, enriched by events and jam sessions between masters and students. Within this bilingual setting, MeranOjazz is not just a musical review, but a living laboratory exploring jazz and its global influences.

This event, born in 2012 under the initiative of Count Kuen and the passed away Merano's artist Pasquale Timone, was created to valorize the characteristic arcade of Merano on the Wandelhalle, the winter promenade. The event, held monthly from April to November, takes place every third weekend from 9 am until about 5 pm. A cultural proposal that both Merano's residents and tourists really like, a nice opportunity to spend a few hours outdoors, in an explosion of colors side by side with artists.

Take care of your health by slowing down and reducing stress: relaxation exercises have been shown to increase physical and mental well-being.

One way is the Jacobson relaxation technique, known as progressive muscle relaxation. The technique is an easy and quickly learned method that helps to relieve tension brought about by stress and overexertion. Untreated, under certain circumstances these tensions can result in back, muscle and head pains, stomach and bowel problems and a range of mental stress symptoms such as sleep and anxiety disorders, depression and even burnout.
The Jacobson Method helps us learn to prevent such problems and better deal with damage that has already been done. Relaxation exercises have other benefits too: the body secretes fewer stress hormones, breathing becomes more even, the blood pressure falls and the heart beats more steadily. And the psyche benefits too: physical tensions are reduced and the body regains its natural equilibrium, thus increasing mental well-being. Stresses and strains brought about by anxiety, worries and pain diminish.

Approx. three quarters of the route is on wider forest and gravel paths, the rest on slightly narrower but easily passable paths.
Along the way, in addition to photo breaks, the bike guide will also provide useful riding technique tips, making the tour a truly great learning experience.
