Hike in the mountaineer village of Matsch: Summit hike to Runer Köpfl

The mountaineer village of Matsch in the Upper Engadin is considered a quiet, nature-oriented starting point for authentic mountain experiences in the midst of a breathtaking alpine landscape.

On this guided, moderately difficult circular hike, you will experience the mountain world around Matsch on the way to the panoramic Runer Köpfl.
After the ride by minibus to the Runerhöfen, the tour leads steadily uphill through untouched nature to the summit.

Upon arrival at the top, you will be rewarded with an impressive panorama over the mountaineer village of Matsch, the entire Upper Engadin and the surrounding mountain world.
The tour offers peace, wide views and an original nature experience.

From there, if you wish and are fit enough, you can reach the summit of Endkopf at 2,627 m in approximately 2 hours. This is a striking limestone rock peak above Graun and Lake Reschen, commonly known as "Jaggl," offering a fantastic 360° view. The hiking taxi can also provide a return journey upon request.

The Alpine Wall – A Bunker and its History

The Töll bunker is part of the "Vallo Alpino del Littorio", a defense system that Mussolini secretly had built during the Second World War. Although never used in combat, the facility tells of a time marked by fear and radical ideas. After

1945, many bunkers remained in operation throughout the "Cold War", until they were decommissioned in the 1990s.

Since 2014, the bunker has been open to visitors, and during this tour you will get an insight into the dark corridors and caverns built deep into the mountainside. Today it serves as a memorial and place of remembrance, keeping the history alive.

From Naturno you cycle comfortably along the Adige cycle path to Merano. From the Thermenplatz square, head eastwards through the Elisabeth Park into the Passeier Valley.

Mostly flat, with a slight incline, you can enjoy the marvellous landscape along the Passeier cycle path (19 km). The refreshing air of the Passer accompanies you along the entire cycle path to St. Leonhard. After a short break, return to St. Martin, where the bike shuttle is waiting to take you and your bike back to Naturns in comfort.

St Nicholas' Church was consecrated in 1199. The little church is famous for its coffered ceiling from the 16th century, which depicts a jester in a washtub. On the llama experience day we want to inspire you all around. First of all, you will look behind the scenes of our llama breeding, get to know our 24-headed llama and alpaca rascals and experience "up close" how our llama kids grow up. We will answer all your questions about husbandry, feeding, care, rearing, training and wool processing and turn you into little llama and alpaca experts. When you are really familiar with the topic, we will start on a leisurely llama and alpaca tour. Halfway through the tour we will take a short break and enjoy the wonderful mountain panorama of the "South Tyrolean Andes". A great backdrop to take souvenir photos with your llama or alpaca. Afterwards we hike back to the farm in a relaxed way. There, a skill course awaits you, which you will master with your animal hiking partner. Our Packraft - Tour homerun (difficulty level medium) is something for adventurous water rats who want to test themselves and conquer the Adige river in their own boat. With action, fun and assertiveness, we master rapids, go around obstacles and relax on calm passages.

Accompanied by one of our qualified guides, the tour begins at our rafting base in Rabland/Rablà, where the equipment is handed out. With bag and baggage we go to Ciardes/Tschars. Arriving at the boat entrance, we unpack our packrafts (inflatable kayaks) and pump them up. As soon as all the kayaks are ready, there is an introduction to the paddling technique and a detailed safety briefing. Shortly after, we're off into some extraordinary, splashing water fun.

The original South Tyrolean apple strudel is baked together with the farmer's wife of the 737-year-old Schildhof farm - with shortcrust pastry and without pine nuts. The ingredients, tricks and tips will be explained. A nut strudel made from yeast dough is also made together. While the strudels bake in the oven, we enjoy a vegetable strudel together, accompanied by fresh tomato salad from the garden. Finally, the dessert is served warm from the oven.

The price includes the baking course, the recipes and lunch with dessert.
